In the 1^st grade, during recess, one of Siani’s classmates asked her, “What happened to your hand?”  Siani answered, “I was born that way.”  I told her, “I will make that a book one day.”  Twelve years later, here it is. 

Siani is my oldest daughter.  She was born with a contracture of the right wrist.  A shortened tendon pulls her hand towards her pinky and ring fingers.  It also restricts the movement of those fingers.  She has never allowed that to stop her from doing anything.
